Just a short story
Played DDB yesterday which I hardly ever play, but the wife was playing the same game too on the next machine so....Anyway, 1300 hands later no quads had hit and the session roll was taking a beating. Quick peck to the wife for luck and I wandered away into non smoking to relax and play some 9/6 job for awhile.
1700 hands or so later, 4 quads had hit and just about on schedule based on the number of hands played. I had always wanted to buy a scarce muscle car called the Olds Cutlas Ram Rod 350 It was only made in 1968. Never did. In this case, I did get the Ram Rod, but not the 350. Listed below are the quads that hit on job for the above session.
Quad Aces with a king, dealt deuces quads with an Ace, dealt quad 3's with an Ace, and finally, drew to quad 4's with a 5.

Now not hitting any 4 of a kind on that game near the 423 hands seems odd, for most who play this game they never play enough hands per session to get to the Aces with kicker at 1 in 16,236 hands. So one can go 10 trips without seeing this hand. When I did play DDB it was not much and it just seems like not only are the 4ok rare but the lower paying hands seem less, then when you change over to Jacks the game is so much better, the hands start hitting. Its like night and day the two games. Plus playing deuces wild most the time now, I see natural 4ok about 4 times an hour, makes you wonder whats going on in the programing these days.

Hi. Congratulations on the belated Quad Quartet. You can really grin and bear it while losing. The story was too quick or me. Did you play JOB for perhaps a half hour before resuming DDB and the quads? Never touch DDB. It would kick my tail Monday to Sunday. ----------------------------------------------------I really must be mindful of that 423 number.Of course I am very cognizant. But it becomes part of the subconscious; you forget all about it amidst a beating. Yesterday I did okay on quarter JOB. Then I put $17 into 9/6 JOB, buck a hand minimum. Lost it. Put in a hundred more. Down to $34. Hit my biggest quad ever, $75 on a desperate $3 bet, and cashed out elated with $106. So thrilled that a high roller got on my machine to kick the tires while I hit the bathroom. He struck out w $20 and left. I resumed for some reason. $25 quad first hand. Playing with a limited bankroll is a nightmare. Feeling good and went to another casino for more buck a hand JOB. Lost it all, about $60 on each machine, while people on either side of me hit for $400 DDB and a $1400 slot hit. DDB winner was on my first cold machine. I just got the idea to keep the winnings from Casino A in voucher form until I return hours later, rendering the proceeds unavailable in Casino B. How's this sound? The struggle to stay disciplined at quarter denomination continues. And pick a new Casino B that actually has FP quarter JOB.

Some of that effect may be a function of the player pumping in revenue, good money after bad, while in DDB mode. Can't it swing noticeably simply because the losing cycle has ceased and the programmer has mercifully called a truce? Savvier folks can clue me in.PS- I wish my quarter JOB was in non smoking. Nice luck right there.

I don't play DDB a ton (as it is rarely the "best" game), but only one AWAK lifetime in a casino while actually playing DDB (and I moved from the "best" game to gamble with its 2nd best payout). Probably 5 or so overall.
