Re: Max Coins vs. Cheap Strategy
It busted me so many times I thought it was normal. When I switched to
deuces, I found I had more fun and more money in the bank.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------DW sounds really promising. I got my butt kicked yesterday just playing quarter JOB. I should have bolted for DW immediately.
I got my butt kicked yesterday just playing quarter JOB. Seriously, I find it's easier to manage my money playing DW. I like to cash out at predetermined levels so I go home with money. Playing deuces wild is like riding in a boat on a wavy day, so you get a lot of chances to stash tickets. This doesn't do much for me on a multi-day trip, but it really helps my bankroll on my once a week trips.

Yeah, that was my point. Might as well have more fun with DW and all the deuces opportunities to be had. Whether they succeed or not is another matter. I went home with 40% of my walk in money. But I did also lose the $65 won via vouchers. At one point I got so frustrated with the quarter machines that I went to the dollar machines for min bet play. That was a quick crash and burn. Never play above your level. It so rarely works out.
Never play above your level. It so rarely works out.
Actually, I do quite well with pot shots on $5 machines. The trick is to play only $20 at a time and be ready to cash out and walk if anything good happens. All you can lose is $20 and you have a lot to gain. You can't believe how many times I've bailed myself out that way. I don't switch to max coins on a big machine unless the counter reaches $125, I'm way ahead for the day and already have my winnings locked up. The reason I don't play max coin $1s this way is so I won't be temped to play single coin dollars. Try it sometime. You may be pleasantly surprised. P.S. If you hit a $20K Royal, you can send me a 50% tip commission.

The trick is to play only $20 at a time---------------------------------------------------Your success is clearly evident. Yes, sir. $20 should be the tipping point. In fact, I'd do well to make that my mantra. I didn't get off the damn machine until after losing $25. It was a water torture bleed of a buck at a time, only doing my cautious min bet. I was hoping to split after a quickie quad with about $20 profit. If I'd done max bet, I would have hung around a mere five spins before crawling away. I'm not sneezing at a $4000 Royal on JOB either, remote as it may be.
