Down like Custer - Saved by Calvary

Post by Lucky Larry »

Our trip to Coushatta was downhill from the start: Couldn't make our normal Sunday run when its not crowded - so we headed over on Tuesday when its crowded with people coming to play Tuesday's weekly money and Wednesday's new week money; assigned to a handicapped room which is nice but low sinks, shower, low cabinets and extra closet that clutters the room; dinner was really poor quality; and it seemed neither one of us could catch two cards of the same color.

Wednesday morning we tried to decide whether to stay/play and or move to Golden Nugget. Much better machines and comps at Coushatta so we stayed but moved into a normal room. Once again the hands were one moderate hit followed by numerous losses and we continued down...down. down.   Changing machines, denominations, games, speed, posture, etc. made no difference.

Finally, down to my last two hundred I switched back to 25¢ Deuces Wild and caught 4 deuces twice within about 30 hands. That was followed up a few minutes later by a dealt Deuce RF hand on 23 hands ($700+). Cashed out the ticket (to take home) and put my last hundred in hoping once again my old reliable deuces would come through. Down to my last $24 when the dealt Deuces Calvary arrived. Second dealt deuces in the last three trips.

Congrats Double L. I think I am crowning you the new King of the Combacks.

Thanks Ted,
Once again Deuces saved my bacon.   But, when the streak ends the losing streak is probably going to be really long and painful.

With the start of the fall semester the weekly trips will be coming to an end. Its been a fun spring and summer.

Wtg LL and family. Wife is already moaning that August is here too fast and before long, she will head to the classroom in the heat to start working and setting up long before school starts. Our schools for the most part in Ct. still have no air and we are in the middle of the usual summer heat wave. 90 plus on most days.

Kids are back in school here with temps well over 100 every day. Thankfully, the schools are air conditioned.

Thank your lady for her dedication to making a difference and I hope she has a great year. I always enjoyed the excitement of starting up a new year but I don't miss the full time demands. Working with my student teachers now for the University gives me the best of both worlds.

I remember in 1963 when our district schools became air conditioned. How did we ever do it before AC?

WTG LL. It's nice when dealt. No angst.
