What would you do with $1,000 in free pay?

The lighter side... playing for entertainment, less concerned about "the math."

$1,000 is only one max-coin quarter royal. It's not a life changing amount. If $1,000 will change your life, you can't afford to be in a casino anyway. It's just an addition to bankroll. There's nothing special about it being freeplay rather than winning a jackpot. It's the same as if you were ahead $1,000 yesterday so today you have a $1,000 bigger bankroll than you had at the start of yesterday.Would that situation cause you to play different machines? (I hope not. You're going to have swings, both up and down. Your intelligent decisions shouldn't be affected by these swings.)If being $1,000 ahead from winning yesterday wouldn't cause you to play different machines than you would otherwise (and it shouldn't), why should winning $1,000 in free play? One of the keys to accumulating bankroll is to not blow it when you get a windfall --- which you periodically will. Playing a bad game just because it was "found" money is not an intelligent way to increase your bankroll. You will periodically go through losing streaks. If the $1000 is bankroll, it will increase your chances of surviving the losing streak. THAT'S the real purpose of a bankroll.Bob

find some forelorn, destitute poor person and download 250 of it onto a machine for the person to play, and watch what they do.....hopefully they hit a winner, or at least cash out what is left after cycling it thru, and use the money for food or something else useful. Then take the remaining 750 and wak around the casino and randomly download 10 bucks here and there for anyone you encounter in the casino, just telling them, "play a few hands on me!"      Do it, and see how many people you make happy, even for a moment!   I guarantee at least one person will be genuinely touched, and that alone is priceless, certainly worth more than 1000 in freebie play.    Everyone on here is always talking about karma and positive energy and all that, so why not.....logic dictates that if you act this generous, it will come back to you in the future.....plus it feels good doing it!
With strategies like "Cheap" and "Pot Shot", you need bank roll. Find a
good Jacks or Better or Bonus Poker pay table, then play it one penny at
a time. If you win you won't win much, and if you lose it'll be
miniscule. You'll end up with at least $925, and you certainly could use
it
Wow, you must be really pissed that I win playing Cheap.  I would be too if I was losing my butt and some idiot won with a strategy of playing single coin quarters.  I guess you think the $18,000 posted on my website is from me walking around the casino taking pictures of other people's jackpots?  I find this hilarious.   As I've stated many times, the Cheap Strategy is only for players who play seriously negative expectation games with a limited budget.  Most of us don't live in Vegas, don't have thousands of dollars to throw into a slot machine and are playing 96-98% games.   If you are a serious high denomination player, you would never play a negative game like that.  We do because we enjoy the game as entertainment and limiting losses is more important to our long term survival than winning a jackpot.  If you are going to snipe away at my posts at every chance you get, I hope you get tired of talking to yourself.  Please get over it.  It's not healthy.
find some forelorn, destitute poor person and download 250 of it onto a

I would only add that the limited budget games need not even be seriously negative. I believed that 99.54% was a worry proof game. Who would miss forty six cents from a hundred dollar bill? Theory and average are precepts better abandoned at the casino door. They keep losing, we'll keep playing.

I may need to shop for a mouth guard to prevent grinding my teeth when a one coin flush or higher in JOB arises. Or a Wild Royal in DW.

Personally, I go out of my way to avoid personal attacks and negative posts.   They have nothing to do with video poker and I think they suck the fun out of this forum. Differences of opinion are how we learn unless we think we know everything already.  Intelligent discourse from open minded thoughtful players is a good thing.  Players that are so convinced they are right they lash out with personal attacks never learn anything new and wind up angry most of the time.
