Smoking is gambling's handmaiden. They are going to get their smoke on regardless. The attendant increased radius from other gamblers is a great fringe benefit. If I sought that goal, I would have accidentally spilled coffee on the adjacent machine to at least keep one side free. Phil, it was wise to get it off your chest and vent to the person to at least affect his psyche, assuming he is not a psychopath. Sad to hear that it could have easily escalated. Hey, in your case, moving within did not lessen the pay tables, as they are poor everywhere!

Casino cigar smokers are arrogant A-holes!
Right on!

I once said to one of them: "Sir, it takes a special kind of person to smoke that thing in an area where you know there are people who don't smoke - and, I don't mean that in a positive sense". I then walked away.

Another solution I've seen is a portable battery powered fan. I knew a lady who always carried one with her to the casino, and when confronted with cigarette or cigar smoke, would activate it and blow the smoke right back to its source.

Another solution. Get a hot cup of coffee from the cocktail waitress and "accidentally" spill some of it on the cigar smoker every time he takes a toke. Politely explain to him that it is a reflex reaction that you have tried to fix over the years, but no doctor has been able to help you.

I mentioned the coffee two hours ago and referred to the fan very recently in another thread. At least credit the source, people.

My comment about a portable fan was not based on your previous post, which I do not recall seeing. Rather, it was based on my own personal experience.

I thought you said to spill coffee on an adjacent machine. I'm saying spill it on the offender, but apologize that it is a reflex you have tried to control, but the cigar smoke causes it.
