A Typical Day...
I just came back from the Tampa Hard Rock on my regular weekly trip. I thought I would review the day as it was a pretty normal day for the Cheap Strategy. I understand most players aren't interested in this, so if Cheap Strategy stuff bores you feel free to move onto another post. I arrived about 8:30 AM with $250 in my pocket. The Tampa quarter deuces game is about a 96% game at max coins so I started with single coin quarters and moved up on every four coin win as usual. This time instead of switching to dollars at $25, I decided to stay at max coin quarters until the counter returned to $20. I set my cash out limit at $50 as I always do. This seemed to work better for me today as I stashed quite a few tickets. I played solid until 2:30 PM when I ran out of greenbacks. I never got a quad deuce or a royal. When I cashed my white tickets at the end, I was up about $20 for the day. Think about this for a minute. I played deuces wild for 6 hours, never got a quad deuce or a royal and came home almost dead even. If I was playing max coins for 6 hours, I would have lost it all early and walked out with empty pockets. Anyone who has played deuces for very long knows this all to well. Breaking even for the day is a win in my book.By the way, I have accumulated $120 in comps over the last few months so I'm going to take my wife out for a nice dinner on the next trip to the Hard Rock. Also, I've been playing nothing but Cheap Strategy quarters in Cherokee for the last two years and they are comping my room next week. Imagine that!

I also have a bankroll of 1000 credits each time I go, if you play at least 4 hours without hitting a quad deuces at max coins, you can end up leaving the casino with empty pockets (if you do not have a credit line/markers set up). The only time I left the casino after 4 hours of play with a 1000 credit bankroll and with a profit without the quad deuces was when I got 6 wild royals.
Do you know how much play you need to get $1 of comp? I play 4 hours on average to get $10 worth of resort comps and $5 personal comps, combined with the bimonthly $25 food voucher I get into the crab legs/prime rib dinner buffet for no extra charge each visit.

I don't know, but when you play single coin quarters it's not much. I can see the number move, but it's real slow. If I'm ahead for the day, I usually play my winnings at max coins which is when I build up comps. I total up my tickets at the end and play everything over what I came in with. I consider this free play that I can do whatever I want with it. If you're playing max coins all the time, you need to keep your wins to make up for your loses. With the Cheap Strategy you break even or make a small profit often, so it frees up more money for max coin or $5 play. The key is not to do this unless you are playing with the casino's money. The comps rooms are another matter. We have found that most any big casino resort will give you a free room during the week if you have a players card and play a lot of hands. I think Cherokee would give the Pope a free room.

Not sure how you can only make one trip a week Phil. Today is my first of 8 days off work for some r&r and will be at the casino most of the days. I am hooked and love to play the systems at low levels to play longer, see the better hands come in and play near even most every trip. There is nothing like it for me. Put in my ear phones and play music off my phone and play away. 800 hands an hour easy. Not a care in the world love it!If you want to see how many hands you can play per hour click the site below, pick your game and click the training on, as you play you can see your hands per hour.http://www.freeslots.com/poker.htm

My closest Casino is the Tampa Hard Rock and it's about a hour and thirty minute drive one way. That's a lot of miles on my car, so I try to limit myself to one trip a week. Occasionally, I will sneak in another trip. That's the main reason I like to play all day. We go on frequent extended video poker vacations every couple of months, and they are great. I love the game more than any other hobby I have had. It's great relaxation and for a retired person it gives you a project to think about. This whole thing with Bob Dancer happens because he can't see the game beyond the end of his own glasses. I understand where he's coming from, I just wish he would see our side of the coin a little better. Someone needs to tell people there is another way to enjoy the game other than doing what he does. I guess I got stuck with the job.

I to have a drive about 45 min one way and that is a big gas cost for me right now going so often. While I do get one $35 gas card a month it's far from covering my cost per month.
You make so much sense, yet I lack so much discipline!
It took me a long time and a lot of lost money to work this out and like everyone I occasionally struggle. It helps if you keep a separate stash for your gambling and don't use your regular spending money. That way you tend to lighten up when your stash gets low. I keep a metal box with my video poker cash and try to keep it going without adding to it from my pocket. It seems to help.

With 90% Cheap Strategy you can ride out the inevitable cold streak cycle like the snowbird congregation in your state! Yeah, maybe just keep a separate wallet. If I find myself reaching into my bag for it, it's time to go. My peak is usually two hours in w my scattershot one to five coin strategy.

The problem I have is when I hit a big jackpot early on in the day. It keeps me into max coins and I give it back most of the time. I would be better off if I played Cheap Strategy quarters 24/7/365. My big bankroll damage comes when I go off the wagon and try being a Bob Dancer clone without his advantages.
