The Mrs. bails us out again

Post by olds442jetaway »

Like a recent LL and Sweet C bailout scenario, the Mrs. and I headed up last night to play a little vp, but we couldn't even get up there until just before the stroke of midnight. I guess I didn't make it because I immediately turned into a pumpkin and my job and deuces wild play was nearly quadless and also royalless.
The Mrs. on the other hand was wearing her perfectly fitting glass slippers and didn't even lose one. Good thing because I don't think the pumpkin could have helped her out at all. I was playing 99 percent games on quarters and the Mrs. was playing DSTP on nickels with a bad 7/5 paytable as well on DDB.
Luckily, as all of us know in the short run anything can happen. The Mrs. hit quad 4s with a kicker and an 8 multiplier for a cool 6,400 nickels. Less than ten minutes later and just playing with one fresh twenty ( the 6400 nickel ticket safely tucked away ), she hit a Royal on one line for another 4,000 nickels. Good thing, because my losses added up almost exactly to her winnings. I even had to borrow a few bucks from her for breakfast tomorrow. . Anyway, being the "smarter than the average bear" lady that she is, she kept her tickets and went home with all 10,400 nickels. Had some nice late night menu sandwiches and cappuccino too before heading home. Saw a beautiful sunrise too.

Good story olds!

I believe you will bail out the Mrs. more often in the long run if the trend continues.

Lucky bailout, Olds. Losing $500 on 99% play would devastate me. I can handle losing a tenth of that session. Those comps must be piling up, fwiw.

You pay a pretty good penalty up at Mohegan Sun for playing the 99% games. All you earn are status points, but you don't get the Momentum dollars that you can spend. I probably get a few bucks of free play and other small goodies every now and then, but it is a pittance really and less than 1/2 of 1% of the action you give them. They did have a nice Christmas party yesterday that I attended for a little while. That one gave you 50 points just for showing up. They also had cash drawings which went to the other lucky patrons.

It's peanuts, of course. My own sweat equity peanuts yesterday won't get me anywhere either. But, I won $42 on two max coin quads and another $25 when a shooter scored a seven in craps. That roll more than covered my round trip.

My wife is a better gambler than me...   If she's losing she goes shopping.  She says she likes getting something for her money other than memories.

Seriously, my wife never liked video poker because I would give her money to gamble with and she was always afraid of losing it.  We keep separate gambling accounts now. She uses her own money and she loves it.  To her, a casino vacation is a fun way for us to have quality time together.  If you consider the cost of video poker compared to some other leisure activities, it can be a fairly cheap hobby.

I like that line. Even with the casino prices in their malls. You sure can't spend the memories, but I can remember all of the details on every big hit I ever had. I'm sure most of us here can too.... .....
