10 multiplier on STP or DSTP

10 multiplier on STP or DSTP

Post by olds442jetaway »

I have been watching this for a couple of years now. When a 10 multiplier pops up, you almost always get dealt a junk hand with no cards to hold. You rarely get a ten multiplier anyway

True, on this website out of all the times I've played and gotten 10x multiplier on STP, the best I got was a high pair. It shows you need incredible patience with this game and the variance increases so much.

1 in 15 rounds to trigger a multiplier
When a multiplier triggers, 1 in 25 chances it will be 10x.

You will have to play through 375 rounds on average to   see a 10x multiplier, since multihand games are slower, maybe once every 45 minutes of play?

Yeah, the 10X is so rare that many players (including me) psych themselves up for it when it appears, hoping or praying that they get a big dealt hand.

The problem is, many VP hands are simply garbage. Your are only supposed to get dealt trips or better 2.87% of the time, which is 1 in 34.8 hands on avg. Leading to an overall probability of a dealt 10X with trips or better to be 1 in 13,060 deals on average. So if your playing triple play STP, getting dealt 10X's with trips or better should be happening almost as frequently as your royal flushes!

Best I've done with 10X. Last time I was able to play 9/6 JoB (99.82%) at Blue Chip in Indiana in Aug. 2013. :( At least I won over $100 that day. Multiplier appeared after the 3rd 8; yes, I was greedy and hoped for a 4th. Unfortunate that it was only one line, but $1.50 is expensive enough for me. Still had a dumb phone then too. Haha

You rarely get a ten multiplier anyway I have some  small hits at 10 times from 2013 when I played the game. Took them for my wife to see as she says she never gets a hand on 10 times. I enjoyed the game but the pay tables stink.  Like you Vman if I play it now days and that's very rare its one hand. Seems roveer is the only one I have ever seem to knock down big hands at the game.

Vman...I love my dumb phone and in fact am thinking of getting another new one on ebay before they are no longer available. Of course you have to remember I also drive I believe the last American car (98 Saturn) to have manual steering with a stick and roll up windows. At least I keep my biceps in shape. Getting back to vp for a moment which is hard for me to do once I get sidetracked, I once did see a lady get dealt a Royal up at Mohegan Sun with an 8x multiplier on a 2 cent machine. If I remember, she had all the lines too. Seems like I can at some point hit much of the weird stuff that is tens of thousands to one, but just can't seem to buy a Real Royal on draw poker at any price. That extra 1.8% or so these last 2 years would really have kept my losses down. I may be heading up late this evening when it is nice and quiet to dump and hopefully recoup some free play. The last trip up there that wasn't a winner overall, did bring hits such as a dealt wild royal and five of a kind on the top line on the nickel Multi-Strike game, deuces quads on the bottom line after only a few minutes of play, and dealt quads on 3 lines on the nickel DSTP machine with a 5 multiplier. The problem is you start to feel your oats on these nice small denomination hits, move up to quarter or even dollar play, and usually get smoked. It is bad enough getting smoked from the second hand stuff lingering everywhere up there. . All kidding aside, nobody forces me to play vp so much. It may not be totally destroying my finances, but I also gave up some luxuries to be able to play vp so much. So for any out there who think you can be a long term winner out there, I will just say I have never met any. You can get ahead most times though and to quit at that point requires more discipline, discipline, discipline,....than I or many of us can muster most trips.

When you move denominations, your session win/loss is significantly determined by how you do at the higher denominations. That's simple math, and that's a clear example why my last trip to Tunica went so well. When I had $1+ on the line, I hit well. <$1 on the line, I mostly sucked... Historically, I have done worse on higher denoms, but I don't have enough data to back that up, and this last trip has definitely pushed it closer to "even".

I wish I could have played that very Jacks or Better STP, casinos have tightened up unfortunately. Now and days the best that it gets is with 8/5 Bonus Poker.

The STP at the local casino is terrible at the most part, 8/5 DDB and people still play that and Ultimate X over the better single line games.

I did see a 5 star poker machine with $1 8/6 Jacks or Better STP; but I understand its better to play 9/6 Jacks or Better single line.

It is exactly the reason Phil's Cheap Strategy can either work well or blow up on people. I cannot seem to get good hits when I am betting max. I lost 5 out of the 8 times I've tried it, but that does not mean everyone will get the same results.

Phones get outdated so quick these days. Now every phone has a built in camera these days, including the flip ones (now those phones can last 5 days in between charging). If more people can learn how to transfer the images using the USB cable, we'd see more screenshots on the forum.

I managed to hit this in December of 2014, thought I had lost this photo when I screwed up a phone upgrade and had to reformat/reinstall the Android OS. XD (Sorry about the flash, thought I had turned it off.)
