Notes, sorry for the loss. But what a hilarious post. You did more hopping than a herd of rabbits! But there was no carrot. Just one stick after another. Forty machines! An odyssey worthy of Homer.

here is a cold cycle. my only gambling session for the month, i went to cherokee for one longgg night of play. when i arrived, i went the first three hours, with only one quad, 8's. later on, lost over $400 between quads. the way i play, that is over 40 different machines, at quarter max, losing $10 between quads. events like this, make me wonder about the machines. needless to say, i lost my a$$. the only good i got, was some excercise from moving around so much.  on another note, went last month and got a room on site for a friday nite, have not had that in years. this time, i got a mini suite upgrade, never happened before in nearly 10 years of play. ever since they started lowering their free play offers, i noticed the casino was not as mobbed as it had always been. they did open a newer, much smaller place closer to geogia border.  i just think that because their payouts (paytables) were always bad, people still went because they could get more free play than anywhere else. with the reduction in offers, the bad payouts are hitting folks hard. for those who have never been to cherokee, it has always been one of the busier casinos i have ever been in and that includes some in vegas. they have a monoply over  a muti state region.I'm sorry for your loss(es)......I sound like one of thise TV cops.Seriously, you had what I have repeatedly had over the last couple years, playing in AC.....it actually seems to get worse each time I cutback on my play, almost like they KNOW I am doing it so they insist and gobbling my money as fast as possible giving as little as possible, until finally I stop playing altogether!   If that is what they truly want, there are easier ways to accomplish that! One thing I will not do at least in AC, and that is go back to playing table games like I used to years ago in Vegas.......

Bummer Notes. Getem back next time. It is really good to move around though. So important to keep the circulation going. If I slip in that area myself, I can really feel it the next day or two. Fla Phil can attest to the penalties of inactivity too I'm sure. When I do walk around the casino which by the way is huge for any who haven't been to Mohegan Sun, I really stretch it out and walk just under a run. Most security folks know me by now. Years ago, some would stop me or tail me and even ask if I needed help or something. Now the ones I know real well just say I wish I could do that at your age. Many of them are my age or a little older and retired law enforcement. Can't do it when the casino is packed though. On those days, the best I can do is get up and stretch. I hate walking like an old man on those days ( which I am rapidly approaching ) and just a tad in age behind Bob Dancer. Every healthy day is a gift and I am grateful for it.

FAA, DB, OLDS, thanks. the truth is, i am almost getting used to it. feast or famine. no matter how many times the probability folks try to explain it, i continue to find it hard to understand how one can go such long periods (hours), without any quads. lack of  premium hands i understand, but nothing, and it does not matter what paytable one is playing. because i move around a lot, i see firsthand what has happened on many machines previously. when these dry periods happen, one can see machine after machine with zero cash outs.  cherokee has always had bad paytables, but the free play would help compensate for it. and, because i only go so often, it takes time for me to notice a trend. the last couple of trips confirms that the crowds are smaller and i am guessing, many others have also seen a reduction in free play, thus the smaller crowds. are they doing this because they feel they can get away with it or is it related to the CET bankruptcy, i do not know. i do know that getting a comp room, on site, on a friday night had not happened in years and getting a suite had never happened, something is going on. unless they increase my offers, they will be seeing less of me going forward.

Notes, I put through 1m or more a year at Mohegan Sun and do not have an assigned host. However, they have all been helpful to me on the rare occasion I needed one. I think I jinxed myself on my earlier response as to no change in free play. Still no change there, but my weekday comp room offers have disappeared a few weeks ago. As" punishment" to the casino, I am cutting back on my hours of play and if I get ahead a little am cashing out and calling it a day. Before, I might still pack it in for the evening, but then give some or all back and more before checking out and going home. So far, I have 6 consecutive positive trips by quitting while ahead. That is a lifetime record for me. Of course I did change my play too combining CS with MC a very mild version however. Keeping my fingers crossed. For now, they can keep their free rooms. I only have an hours drive in light traffic anyway.

I think the fact that you can bet more than 5 coins on a hand at Mohegan Sun plays right into your system. It allows you to go deep in the count. A modified Martindale is a good way to attack those machines if you do not want to play max coin. It takes discipline but sounds like you understand this. Hope you keep your streak alive.

OLDS, love that you are doing well with a system. I would really love for you to get into much more detail with your system as I have 20 coin machines to play and would love to try it. I have read your system a bit but having a hard time wrapping my head around it. Thanks.

It is probably a little early to recommend anyone play this way for real money. I don't know of any programs out there that allow one to bet up to say 25 units, but I will give it a shot and try to explain it anyway. There really two versions. One is strictly Martingale clone. It is fairly mild, but can also get fairly expensive to play. The other is based on CS with the Martingale clone built in when you go up on your bets of 4 or more. Other than pen and paper, I wish there was a way one could practice this for free before putting up any money to try it. My 6 sessions of plus days is good, but far from long term results. Anyway, I have a few minutes now, so I'll give it a shot.
I will talk about the Mild Martingale clone first without CS. I use this strictly on 9/6 job. I am tempted to use it on Deuces Wild, but so far no. Luckily, it does not require lots of quads, but does work much better if the full houses are hitting. It is cheaper to play with bet 1 first, but you run the risk of the Royal penalty. It works the same anyway, so I will start with bet 1.
Anytime in your play, you exceed your highest credit amount, return to bet 1 and either cash out, or start the whole process over. This would be return to bet 5 if you are starting with 5.
Say you put in 800 credits or two hundred bucks. Bet one. Stay at bet 1. Assume you start out losing which is quite common. When you reach 795 credits, start betting 2. There are 5 positions within each amount you are betting. If you are at bet 2 ( pushes or money back bets just don't count ) and you lose, lose, and then hit 3 of a kind, you are back where you started with bet 2 position 1. Just start the bet 2 sequence over. If you are betting 2 and you lose, lose, lose, lose, then hit 2 pair, you have gained one position at bet 2. That means your next bet will be at position 4 on bet 2. If on your next bet you hit a flush which pays 6 for one, you have gained 5 positions. That means you can cancel out position 1,2, and 3 at bet 2 and cancel out position 4 and 5 at bet 1. Your next bet will be at position 4 at bet 1. This is a little hard to explain, but the reason it is working so far is I have to hit many fewer hands at higher bet levels to be even or better than just flat betting. You do run the risk on an absolutely horrible dud session and end up busting the bank. So far that hasn't happened, but I'm sure it will at some point.
Let's say you have been back and forth for awhile, but quads haven't hit and full houses have been poor too. You are now at bet 12 quarters position 3 of the 5 positions at bet 12 and a quad hits. You can back your next bet down as follows...remember, you have just gained 24 positions and are at bet 12. You cancel out position 1 an 2 of bet 12. Now you have 22 more positions to cancel out. That will take out all 5 positions at bet 11,10,9,and 8. Then you cancel out position 4 and 5 at bet 7. At that point however, you need to look at your credit balance. If you have exceeded your highest total, you either cash out or start all over at bet 1 or 5 your choice. If you made great progress, but have not exceeded your highest credit total by hitting the quad, your next bet will be bet 7 position 4. After awhile, you will find it is pretty easy to do the position subtractions in your head. I have to go for now, and wait for questions if any before explaining the CS version. It is pretty much the same except the Martingale clone part doesn't start until you are due to go up on hits of 4 or more. You just give the clone 1 shot and if a loss, return to the standard CS play. I am not recommending anyone try this. This is just the way I play and it has worked out in the short run. Very short run. On horrible dud days, it will not work and bust the bank. On the CS version, just keep track of the times you are supposed to up your bet based on hits of 4 or more. If you are playing CS with bet 1 and on your hits 4 or more, you would normally bet 5 with the standard CS play, just remember the 5 position rule. Before you would go up past bet 5 on hits of 4 or more, you would have a net loss of 5 positions at bet 5 each position getting only one trial when it is called for. The next time a higher bet is called for due to a hit of 4 or more, it would be bet 6 instead of 5 since you have lost 5 net times already at bet 5.

Just a quick note to add....Although it could cost more money to play, starting by betting 5 quarters to avoid the Royal penalty of nearly 2 percent would be a better option long term as long one can afford it. No matter how the bets go up and down, the long term 99.54 return on 9/6 job combined with some hopeful free play and other benefits one gets should work out pretty well in the long term. I will be certain to post on my first failure which I'm sure will come. A failure would be when the method calls for a bet greater than 25 quarters which is the machine max or one runs out of a reasonable bankroll say 300 bucks. If one has a huge bankroll and the machine allows, after the method calls for 25 quarters and nothing good is still hitting, you could change denomination to fifty cents and begin at bet 13. Once that continued to fail and took you all the way up to bet 25 fifty cent pieces, you could still switch to dollar play on the same machine and begin at bet 13 there. I am not recommending this at all and it would cost a fortune to do it with no guarantees. For me, I would rather eat the loss for one session if the method took me up to bet 25 quarters and think about what to do on the next trip. All I know is so far, this has worked out so much better than flat betting even with very few quads hitting. Remember it is only 6 trials, so I wouldn't get too excited yet. If it worked all of the time, the casinos would already be out of business. Edited to add the most important key....play the best paytable available and hopefully it will be 99.54%. Don't make mistakes or play hunches in hopes of catching up, don't play over your head and remember there is a pool of quicksand in front of the ATM. This is supposed to be fun afterall.
A total failure of the Martingale Clone method on 9/6 job starting with 5 quarters can cost as much as 1,575 quarters so it is not cheap to play. I have never seen a job game fail 130 consecutive hands without hitting at least 2 pair. One could reach that 1,575 failure number however, by a very poor session and few good hands so that your bet was constantly creeping up. At the end you would have lost the 130 positions. That 1,575 number was figured by adding up all bets from 5 through 25 x 5 as each level is assigned 5 positions. It is not possible to calculate what the total failure on CS/MC would be since you never know how long you will be betting 5 before a hit of 4 or more. The only part that can be calculated with CS/MC failure would be the failure of the MC portion which would be the same 1,575 quarters.

Yes, the give back disaster is almost as bad as losing throughout! I have two hours in light traffic, so I am a little more eager to keep grinding. But I can always read above the Atlantic. That never gets old.
