Re: free play offers
I never want to be too far from the water. Can almost reach LI Sound with a really good throw. Very relaxing and stress relieving too. Long walks on the beach or Boardwalk are the best. Anyway, the storm is outta here a little sooner than expected. Heading up later tonight for another bout. After 6 wins, I may have to rely on Ropa dope this time and go all fifteen rounds. We'll see. The Mrs. has a work day tomorrow, so she will mind the piggy bank before I leave and make sure it doesn't empty. I'll be happy with a push this time. They may have read my post about comp rooms disappearing. One just appeared for tonight and with free dining credits too. Will have a late dinner with the Mrs. before abandoning ship. She has tons of classroom and other school work to do, so she is probably better off with me not bothering her late in the evening. I will post back win or lose on the CS/MC success or failure. Better to use me as the guinea pig before anyone else risks hard to come by bankrolls.

Back earlier today from a grueling 9 hour evening and early morning marathon with the casino. Bloodied and bruised, at least I emerged up by one percent of total coin in. I opted to play MC this time with the 5 positions as posted below. This is the mild version. I knew if it failed, it would cost me 400 bucks. That is what I put into the 9/6 quarter machine.
Right off the bat, the machine proceeded to deal me almost 25 consecutive dud hands which took my bets from the entry level bet 5 to betting 10 quarters a hand. The next 6 hours was a back and forth tug of war with the casino. Based on the hands coming in, my bets hovered in the 9-14 quarters per hand range. Quads were almost non existent and only 2 hit in all that time. Full houses and flushes kept me in the game, but there were also long stretches where almost nothing was coming in. At one point, my original bank was cut in half but at least I didn't get wiped out.
I finally took a much needed break about 2:30 AM and checked into my room. The staff and hotel manager knows me well and almost always saves me a nice room no matter what time I check in. I really needed to stretch and get the circulation going again so I took a really brisk walk around the casino for a good 30 minutes. I was surprised to stumble on several patrons waiting to get paid for jackpots on the slots. After a mini break in the lounge, a vanilla shake with a shot of espresso, and a really good Turkey, Swiss, and roasted pepper sandwich and my walk, I was ready for battle again, but opted for a hot shower and a couple of hours of much needed rest.
I knew I was on a short time schedule for the next morning and I stopped at the player's club to check on my status points earned so far. Much to my surprise and probably because of the high bet level the night before, I had earned enough status points for a hundred bucks in free slot play. As I headed toward the non smoking room, one of my favorite waitresses spotted me, flagged me down, and handed me a freshly brewed cappuccino. I was now ready for the final and relatively short battle.
Kind of frustrated by the lack of quads the night before, I opted for the 98.91 Deuces Wild game. When I had cashed out on the job game last night, I had been at bet 11. That is where I started my play. Right off the bat, the deuces game on the same machine I had been playing was good. The short version is by hitting a couple of Wild Royals and several 5 of a kinds, I got not only back to even, but ended up 1.1 percent of the total 15k I had run through the machine for this trip. I guess this would make 7 up trips in a row now, though I am in no hurry to repeat such a tough battle anytime soon. Of course the Royal and quad Deuces eluded me. If either one hit at the levels I was playing at, this would have been a great trip. I am still satisfied though, because the variation in my betting amounts saved me and the bigger hits came at the higher bet levels. Had I been flat betting for this entire session, I would have been wiped out for sure.

Olds, congrats on putting a few bucks in your pocket this trip. The turkey sandwich sounded tasty. Maybe include a dab of dijohn mustard next time?

Olds, sounds like a great time, exiting w about $150 profit and nice free play. I can't relate to bets two and three times my level, but it sure worked out your last seven trips!

I was tempted with the mustard, but I was pushing it as it was having roasted peppers at 3AM. Growing up when mom's budget was low and the giant size bread was a nickel a loaf, we just made mustard sandwiches. mmmmmm!!!. If the tomatoes were in ( had a small garden ) so much the better. Roasted peppers are the best. For those that haven't tried, put some on your pizza or burger next time, or if you are at Mohegan Sun or in the New Haven area, just order the pizza that way from Pepe's.

I wish Mohegan Sun hadn't dumped the 2 cent single vp poker machines years ago. You would have had a ball with them. My MC used to kill those machines as they allowed bets up to 100 not just max at 5. MC worked great on them. That is why they are gone.

Heading up tonight with the Mrs. We have a rare Friday comp room if I use up my " choice credits " Otherwise the room would be 400 bucks for tonight if I didn't the credits to burn or lose by the end of Feb. Will it be a plus trip 8, or will the casino prevail and mop up my 400- budget like a spilled drink on a priceless rosewood table? We will see. I still plan on a version of CS,MC, or a combination of both. Hit and run will be the rule as far as the play goes and the Mrs. as usual will be the piggy bank. We only have to keep one eye open on the weather. Will it be one of my favorite micro brews or a Pistachio Martini with dinner? If VMAN responds before I leave later tonight, I will abide by his decision. I think I know which it would be. Everyone stay healthy, safe, and have an enjoyable and lucky weekend...Olds....
Remember....In front of all of the casino ATM machines is a pool of sticky and bottomless quicksand.

Round 9 of this scheduled 15 rounder goes strongly to the casino. The evening started off good. Lite traffic up, a really good prime rib dinner paid for with the leftover use or lose choice credits. Had both an O'douls and a Pistachio Martini with dinner. The 15 buck free play was cashed out at twenty and took care of the dinner tip and the waitresses for the evening. The Mrs. had a good time too.
Now on to round 9. No matter what I tried on job and Deuces with CS, MC, or CS/MC nothing was hitting. The casino had an early knockdown and my 400- bankroll shrank by 300 long before I was ready to turn in. I cashed out the scraps and kept the Mrs. company. She was playing Ultimate X for nickels. Bonus Poker with a 6/5 paytable. Each bet still cost a buck fifty. Surprisingly she held her own for most of the evening. I put a 20 of my remnant 100 in the identical machine next to her and stashed the 80 bucks for the ride home. The quarter game earlier pretty much had me down for the count, but somehow, on about the 10th hand playing the same game as the Mrs., I hit quad Aces on the top line with a 4x multiplier good for 1600 nickels. Promptly cashed out and just hung out next to the Mrs. until she was done playing. I had to bite my tongue a few times on her card holds, but I didn't say anything and hey, she was doing better than me at any rate. Got to bed really late, but had a nice late breakfast this morning in the lounge and another fifteen bucks in free play to boot this morning which I promptly wasted on a Double Down Stud game. Had a nice trip, but somehow, it is always nicer when you win too. Hope round ten in a few days will be better. I need a break from vp for a few days now anyway.

I didn't expect to be ready for bout ten this early, but the cuts and bruises healed up pretty good and the Mrs. gave me a short term loan interest free to boot. . The web site showed no free rooms for last night, but I called vip at 9 or so pm and they offered me a comp room. Everything seemed to be in order at home and I had just finished visiting and checking on dad, so after checking with the Mrs., up I went again. Rain, but at least no ice. My new wipers on the old Saturn worked well even on the pitted windshield. Had dinner at home with the family, so I just started to play right away and didn't check in until late. Had the same bank as the last trip and this is how it went.
I will call bout ten a draw, but it was nearly a disaster. CS and CS/MC were not working at all just like the Friday night trip. Dropped nearly 200 each on job and deuces wild. The casino appeared to be in total control and fatigue had started to set in. The laces on my gloves were lose and I had a cramp in my right calf from an earlier knockdown by the casino.
I had less than a hundred left and reluctantly abandoned CS and CSMC for the evening and proceeded to put the scraps into my old favorite Double Down Stud Machine and play deuces wild with a mild Martingale. I knew the eighty bucks or so wouldn't last long if the machine was in a total down mode. I pulled together what energy I had left, wiped the sweat and blood out of the corner of my right eye and duked it out with my opponent.
I was holding my own pretty well but luckily the bell rang and a waitress appeared because I was severely dehydrated. I downed the one room temp bottle and splashed the cold one onto my face just as the bell rang.
This time I had a good feeling and got in a few quick jabs with some quads and a couple of straight flushes.
My vision was getting blurry a little and I knew I didn't have much left. Out of the blue appeared 3 blurry deuces and a jack of hearts. I hoped I had hit the correct button for double and of course was hoping for the last deuce which would have had me ahead by a mile. Somehow, I did land that left hook as a glancing blow on the jaw of my opponent and a wild royal appeared. I was even and the final bell rang. My opponent staggered back to his corner and was very dazed. I stood upright and erect in the middle of the ring. My corner man led me back to my corner for the decision. The judges had declared this match a DRAW!!!!! and I was thrilled.
