Re: Unfortunately this site is no longer usable

WOW - so frustrating.  I have restarted tonight at least 20 times to get through about 400 hands.  There doesn't seem to be any particular ad that is doing it.  Every time I think I have found an ad that caused it the next time it pops it doesn't lock up my computer.   Twice I didn't even get beyond the screen where you pick which version of the game to play.  If this isn't fixed soon I am done.  I play this for relaxation and it has become anything but relaxing.

I installed Opera 37.0 and this browser seems to work so much better than IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari. Even with the ads enabled.

Same problem as the rest. IE is near impossible to play. I switched to Chrome and for a while it worked, now that is even screwed up. Just turn the site into pay only and get it over with.

One of the new ad formats on the game play page is a rectangle ad. In
some cases, the ad providers are playing video ads, or ads that attempt
to play video, which can slow down game play on some machines. We are
working with our ad providers to eliminate those type of ads.

We'll keep our fingers crossed!

One thing I've noticed is that when the game is playing extremely slowly, if at all, if I stop using the keyboard shortcuts, and make my selections with the mouse, it plays a bit better. However, using the mouse is inherently slower.

I had to stop playing for now. Freeze ups were happening just too frequently. I'll give it another try in a week or so.

The website costs money to operate. I don't understand why some people think it is a free lunch. They have to recoup their operating costs and make a fair profit. So you either put up with advertising or you pay a very small monthly fee for no ads. I have been Gold for a while and it is worth it to me. What I spend per month on Gold is less than the cost of gasoline to and from a casino one time.

For those experiencing problems with ads, we have set up a page with a new ad delivery method for you to try. Please try playing some Ultimate X Poker for a while on this test page and let me know if it performs better, or worse:http://www.videopoker.com/play2/Note: The above link is for basic members only, to test the ad delivery system. It will nt work for Gold or Silver members.

I don't know if this is helpful, but when my computer locks up, most of the time the CPU Usage and Physical Memory are around 50% each.  I would expect at least one of them to be maxed out or close to it when my computer locks.

Not that I'm complaining, but after the first ad switch the ad boxes were blank (black). Otherwise it's working fine. The vertical box (on the right) changed ads once, but the top one blanked out after the first ad. BTW it seems like after the upgrade the ads change much faster than they did before. I would think a little more screen time would be more valuable for the advertisers. *shrug*

BTW I'm playing in IE on a Win10 laptop with an AMD A8 with 8BG ram.

{I'm speaking of that special Ultimate X link)
