Re: Taj Mahal EXACT SHUTDOWN DATE SET
Hmm. Nobody is too upset six weeks later! Talk about much ado.

We should have a moment of silence.

Guess so. I've read about this Taj closing a lot and don't really think the union was to blame, because it would have closed before remodeling/reinvestment even if the union didn't strike.

They had already started remodeling. I personally saw new carpets in the hotel and suites. Also they added many -maybe 50?-new slot machines that I noticed.
They should have gone on strike after he finished remodeling-then maybe he would have had second thoughts-or they should have taken the offer with an understanding that they would meet again in 6 months or whatever. JMHO
Passed there coming home from Tropicana-so empty and sad. Many good memories. Remember the clambakes and BBQs in the parking lot? Good times!
At the Trop valet desk we saw and spoke to the valet from the Taj. Bill has been talking to him for many many years.

Talks are underway to reopen it in the Spring.
What a surprise.

That would be cool if it did reopen, if it were done properly. Properly done includes good gambling value on slot and video poker play. It won't be called Trump anymore I don't think, but that's ok. If revel reopens, this project seems dimmer. Wait and see, all we can do.
