Max Betting at CET
Always bet the max. It is only at 5 coins bet that RF and
other jackpots get 'bonused' or pay top dollar. And isn't top dollar what we want? If you can't max bet at a specific
denom, find a lower denom and play IT at max
bet. DO NOT play a dollar game, one coin at a time. Play a quarter game at $1.25 cents. You'll make more
money, play longer and earn more comps.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The site's advice is correct. However, CET policy torpedoes it. $50/1 TC slows the comps to a crawl. So, I do the same odds $1 JOB at one coin. The problem is that I invariably bump it when behind and can bust fast. But the TCs accrue without being chained to a machine all day. If the landslide vote is exclusively quarters, I will bite the comps bullet.

Interesting question. At the casinos where I play it is common to find the single coin dollar odds far better than the max coin quarter odds. Playing single coin dollars can often gain you a point or more on the pay table while costing you 25 cents less on each hand wagered. My experience has been that the comps seem to accumulate faster playing single coin dollars vs. max coin quarters. This actually may not be true as I increase my bet on about 1/10th of my hands, so I may be seeing the overall increase from my increased coin in. I doubt there are many players on this forum willing to risk a short coin royal even if there is an advantage to doing so.

For what it's worth, I've played Game King machines that have 10 coin max bet, but at five coins they royal pays 4000 coins, and it's prorated up to 8000 for 10 coins. In other words you still get the full royal playing 5 even though it isn't "max bet".

[/quote]I've played a few of those myself. Most video poker machines in Florida have 5 coin max bets. Olds442jetaway plays at the Mohegan Sun and they have much higher max coin bets. The worst I ever ran into was a 100 coin max bet. It was at a small Indian casino out in the everglades. I put in a 100 dollar bill, hit max coins and it placed a bet with my whole 100!! I hit a straight. If I had hit a royal, I'm sure they would have called the EMTs.

If CET offers machines like that, they rarely offer 4000 for 5 in my experience. Usually 1500 for 5. Only the full pay royal if you bet max offered.
As for the OP...well, it depends on the quarter JoB payout. If somehow it's 9/5, definitely play max 9/5 quarters for full points. If 8/5...blah...if mailers are decent on the 8/5...it could be close. I assume the 9/6 one sucks.

I never play any video poker game without a 4,000 coin 5 coin royal flush. I might if the smaller hands were increased to cover the royal bonus. I don't think a game like that would be popular as most players need the bait of the rare 4,000 coin jackpot.

I've basically made my peace with foregoing the 4000 RF to pile up
points. Of course, I still selectively do $5 pot shots for that $4,000.
I'm not entirely cheap.

FAA, if you are trying to earn tier credits to get into Platinum status, just try to get approved for a Total Rewards credit card. If you want Diamond, you will have to put in some good amount of play for your standards.

Diamond, you will have to put in some good amount of play for your standards.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Yeah, it's depressing. Every TC seems to cost at least $1 in losses. Get used to same old Gold. All that glitters is not gold. Even when it is gold, the glitter is illusory.

You would have to first ask yourself if it would be worthwhile to be at Diamond level.
Would you enjoy having access to Diamond Lounges? I heard the Diamond lounges are good there compared to elsewhere.
Would you enjoy being on a shorter line for about everything?
Would you be able to visit other CET properties in the nation? Maybe get a free stay in Vegas?
Would you enjoy a $100 dinner certificate for making it to Diamond?
Would you enjoy special offers exclusive to Diamond club members?
Total Rewards is hands down the most rewarding casino slot club in the nation once you reach Diamond or Seven Stars.
If you are wagering $1/$2/$5 denomination bank, it is set at $20 coin in per Tier Credit. So it is far more efficient to play on those. It is pointless to continue the discussion if you do not value the Diamond tier.
