Re: RNG Questions

Speaking of buying a home and Real Estate, shortly after we were married , we scrimped and saved and bought our home. Location, location, location. 34,000 bucks but needing work. A few months later, Potato Island came up for sale for 70K. We were tapped, but I knew I should have found a way to buy it. Anyway, last year or so, it was listed I think for 8m. Oh well can’t look back. I never would be able to afford the taxes today. Just like the Rng I guess. Though we try and make sense of what happened earlier in our session for the day, the next hand hopefully will be totally independant in an honest game.

Our first home cost $10,500. $600 down and $82 a month. We lived there for 10 years and sold it for $40K. Of course our next home cost $57,000. We made money on all our homes except one. We bought a home in the eighties, lived there for 10 years and broke even. Back then the interest rates were 18%. I bought an ocean front condo in Key Largo for $135K back in 1997. It's worth about a million today.

Then there are the bad times. My wife sold a home to one man in 2006 for $990K and sold it to another man after the crash for $495K. We saw a lot of those. The 2008 crash was caused by the same thing that caused the Great Depression, loose credit. Before the crash, she sold seven reconstruction houses to one man with $1,000 down each. He flipped them all and made $50K on each one. He later went bankrupt when he got caught in the downturn. If you are going to gamble on houses or on video poker you better be prepared to lose. Old story, new characters.

I'll tell you what I will do, next time the IGT guys are in my place I will pose the question to them. I'll also talk to some of the folks who work in both gaming and maintenance at the casinos, a lot of them come in on a daily basis. The Gaming Commission folks come in sometimes and they are located right across the street from my location. In over 20 years of going to casinos I've never actually seen test being run on either a vp machine or slot, that's not to say it doesn't happen. I did get a kick out of what billyryan said about as to why professional vp players don't post here, I have never met a PVP in my entire life. If PVP's do exist I'd love to see one attempt to make a living playing in this area.
Excellent idea. The integrity of the game we play is important to many of us pilgrims on the road to whatever.
Rec. players here looking forward to your feedback on this issue.
Oh never mind about BR , he sometimes misses the mark, or his meds i'm not sure which today, but his reputation precedes him.
Didn't you just get finished apologizing to me for your attack on me because you knew I was wrong except it turned out I wasn't?
Insults certainly help you prove your point.
You were right (even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while), i was wrong. Apology deserved.
This post i stand by. You confuse facts with insults. You are the disrupter, the antagonist, the insulter,i for one am done with you.

:) Good going FAA. What did you bribe the RNG with? A little extra silver solder maybe? Whatever it was, it rejected 9,000 others and chose you.

billryan is just trying to keep Phil from running amok. Same with tedlark. Fighting the "good fight". I've mostly given up mainly because Phil never stops...

Somehow ted got DaBurglar to basically stop. But in the last year or so of DaBurglar posting, I was wanting ted to lay off because DaBurglar wasn't generally spreading exaggerations or lies.

I searched the thread that finally did it, and DaBurglar was totally wrong to assume Ted faked his W2G wins. But DaBurglar also assumed ted was a "successful player" with all those hits in his apology. If one defines a "successful player" as a net winner, calling ted one is definitely an assumption, imo. Same with Lucky Larry, butchp, etc. It's fine to just post the best hits, but assuming they are long term winners based off just that is short-sighted, imo.

If you are waiting for me to stop whatever lies you believe I am telling, you may have a long wait. I call them as I see them. Gamblers all want to believe they can beat the casinos. I do not believe anyone can today. That's ancient history.

DaBurglar was run off this forum. I didn't always agree with him and I don't know all the details. Evidently he challenged Ted and lost. I will stay as long as the management allows me to voice my opinion. As far as video poker is concerned, we have no disagreement. Playing the best games perfectly gives you the best chance of making a profit. It will never guarantee you will make one.

To be honest, if I was banned permanently from this forum it would be a relief. I wouldn't have to say betting smaller on a losing game saves money. I wouldn't have to argue that investing is a good thing. I wouldn't have to say owning a home is better than living in an apartment. I wouldn't have to tell people they shouldn't count of gambling as a future. Someone has to. If it's not me, it will be someone else.

Phil, your last paragraph above says much. First; why would it be a relief to you if site management permanently banned you? Wouldn't it be much better if you quit posting misinformation and half-truths (such as in your last paragraph above regarding betting smaller on losing games, investment advice, and home ownership is better than renting) and just stuck to posting about casino trips and misc.?

Do you think there is a casino anywhere that does not offer a opportunity to AP? That not a single person is playing with an advantage at your local casino?
I imagine machines are certified before they are installed.
I'm guessing there's a few folks that may be able to make money playing vp somewhere. As far as the casinos in this area with reduced paytables, reduced free play and comps I would be very surprised to find someone who can beat vp here on a consistant basis.

Good old Saint Phil. I suppose someone needs be the advocate for the mathless and superstitious. Not the ground I'd chose to make my stand, but it be what it be.
At least Da Burglar lived up to his word and left when he said he would.
